Finding the Right Supervision Journey

Tiffany Mosby professional headshotWelcome! I’m Tiffany Mosby, LMFT, LCMFT, QS–supporting the next generation of systemic therapists.

As a licensed marital and family therapist in five states, AAMFT Supervisor Candidate, and Qualified Supervisor, I know that choosing a supervisor is about more than just checking a box for your hours—it is about finding a supervisor who understands the nuances of our work. Whether you are a newer clinician navigating your first independent cases or an experienced therapist seeking to sharpen your approach, the quality of your supervision will shape your confidence and your career.

Why Supervision Matters: Staying Informed and Connected

As a therapist, author, and Qualified Supervisor, I believe that high-quality supervision must go beyond simply meeting licensure requirements. My approach is rooted in the belief that effective therapists should never feel isolated in a silo.

By actively participating in monthly supervision sessions myself and serving as an active member of the Florida Family Therapy Alliance board on the elections committee, I remain at the forefront of our evolving profession. This ongoing commitment ensures that I provide my supervisees with the most current insights—not just into clinical skills, but into the broader landscape of Marriage and Family Therapy. From board updates and legislative changes to the cultural and social shifts currently shaping our field, I ensure that my supervisees are always “in the know.”

My Clinical Experience

With 22 years of professional clinical experience since earning my Master’s degree in 2004, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my practice. My clinical journey began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, providing intensive in-home family therapy within an Eco-Structural Family Therapy clinic. My career has since spanned across Missouri, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, and Colorado, where I am also fully licensed.

Beyond direct clinical care, I have extensive experience managing complex, high-acuity cases within the managed healthcare system, including my work as a Complex Health Case Manager with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. This experience provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of insurance billing—a critical skill I am passionate about passing on to my supervisees. Furthermore, I hold myself and my supervisees to the highest legal and ethical standards, ensuring that we navigate our professional responsibilities with integrity and precision.

Additionally, I bring a strong background in quality assurance and crisis intervention, having served as a trainer for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. While I now operate a successful home-based telehealth practice, my foundation is built on years of face-to-face, intensive clinical work and rigorous crisis training. This blend of real-world, in-home experience and modern telehealth provides me with a unique perspective on the diverse challenges our field faces. Whether we are discussing clinical cases, ethical dilemmas, or the practicalities of a home-based telehealth practice, I am here to support your journey toward clinical excellence.

Beyond the Clinic

My passion for connection and growth extends well beyond traditional clinical walls. I am deeply dedicated to couples therapy, where I have developed and hosted specialized retreats designed to help partners deepen their intimacy and communication.

Beyond my direct clinical work, I am a published researcher on relationship dynamics, and I have contributed as a co-author to a workbook specifically designed to support disabled veterans in navigating sexuality and disability. My creative and professional pursuits also include poetry, which allows me to explore the nuances of the human experience in a different light.

I am also someone who enjoys meeting people where they are—even if that means stepping onto a television set. I have had the unique experience of serving as the couples therapist on a reality television makeover program, where I provided direct clinical guidance and intervention to the featured couples. This opportunity allowed me to demonstrate how therapeutic principles can be applied in high-energy, public settings, and it’s a fun testament to the versatility and confidence I bring to my clinical practice.

Whether it’s in the quiet of a therapy office, the intensive environment of a retreat, the platform of television, or the pages of my writing, I am committed to helping people create real, lasting change in their relationships.
